Joanne Langione Dance Center is a well-known family-owned dance center located in Newton, Massachusetts. Throughout its 46 years, Langione’s mission has remained the same: to preserve and foster the next generation of well trained dancers whether they choose to dance professionally or simply for the joy of it. Voted “Boston Best Dance Classes” by Boston Magazine, JL Dance Center was ready to elevate their website and brand to set themselves for the next generation of success.
Over COVID the team at Joanne Langione Dance Center realized it was time to take their website and brand to a whole new level. They just needed the right agency to do it. Revamping the website would not be an easy task, especially with the complication of having dance class information, registrations, events and so much information in general housed under one website.
Competing with other local dance studios, JLDC also realized it had to set its dance center apart and give it the elevated brand recognition it required. Some of the biggest challenges would include going from a website that is very common and similar in the dance industry, to something much more modern and high-level than what customers would expect.
Another major challenge would be to still speak to all of it’s constituents, marketing dance classes from baby and plan dance all the way to advanced dance classes and customized programs through the end of high-school.
To some, a dance studio is nothing more than an after school activity. To the students, faculty, and families at Joanne Langione Dance Center, it’s so much more. It was our job to portray this message for those seeking dance classes or thinking of dance classes, with a healthy family like environment for their children.
The team at Joanne Langione Dance Education Center had a clear vision for where they wanted to go. As a legacy Boston brand for over forty years, it was time to elevate the website to the next level. A clean, modern user-experience with clear messaging was the number one priority. Creative Director Morgan Kropa, lead the project with two designs that offered different user-experiences. JL Dance Center went for gold, with a hybrid design of the two. Our team worked interactively with the JL Dance Center leadership team to create and approve website sections in an agile process that allowed us to complete various parts of the project in small chunks. In the end, the launch was clean and easy.
Oh did we mention we had a six week timeline???
Very close to the end of the project, the team at JL Dance decided to take their design even further contracting the team at Ladybugz for several photoshoots that were integrated onto the new site. Several integrations were also deployed including a new brand new ticketing API and the current registration system.
We continue to work with the team at JL Dance Center to help manage their brand and marketing. Some of these services include local SEO, content strategy, graphic design and social media.
