5 Easy Ways to Motivate your Creative Team in the Summer

Web Development

Summer is bewitchingly beautiful and it can be tough for employees to go into the office on those hot summer days when they know the beach is calling.

So how do we make going to work more fun for our employees and keep them productive when many of their peers are taking vacations or have the summer off?

Here are a few tips to keep our summer as productive as possible.

1. Let them go home early

If you can let employees go home a bit early on those super special beautiful days, then do it. You can even motivate your staff by saying, “if we meet all of our daily deadline, we an all go home at 4, instead of 5.” This will help get work done faster and give your valued employees motivation to get the job done.

2. Take them out for ice cream or order in an ice cream truck

Nothing says summer like ice cream. Depending on the size of your company, the whole office can head out for ice cream on a beautiful afternoon or call in the troops; a local ice cream truck. Plan your event for around 2 p.m., hopefully the sugar high will last until 5 p.m.

3. Catch a blockbuster

Inspire creativity by taking them out around 3 p.m. to enjoy a summer block buster. You won’t break the bank and you’ll reap creative conversations for the office all summer.

4. Plan a Summer Bash

There is no time better than the summer to plan an employee motivational event. What is best about summer is you can plan it around those activities your team is likely missing. A beach day that includes volleyball, a golf round or a boat cruise can drum up creative conversations and idea. Yes, talk shop!

5. Let everyone have their vacation

Make sure everyone has a vacation week planned during the summer period. If new employees haven’t accrued vacation time yet, let them take it anyway and make up hours later. Everyone needs a summer break, and hopefully everyone comes back rested and inspired.
