The Axion Biosystems team had never worked with a creative web agency before, so this was the company’s first experience with a partner. Axion chose Ladybugz Interactive because of the team’s vast and proven experience in web design, growth sprints, messaging, and development on more complex platforms, in this case, Drupal. The creative team at Axion didn’t have the capacity to work on the project, so they interviewed several agencies to partner with. Ultimately, they carefully selected and hired our boutique biotech-focused marketing agency to bring their vision to life.
The process started with a discovery meeting whereby a wireframe was presented to the Axion Team. This provided sections for a positioning statement, featured product, “about” information, product categories, applications, and resources/content. We worked with the Axion team to review the overall structure and flow, with feedback on emphasizing applications over products, incorporating more biology-focused messaging, and making the featured content section more flexible to highlight different types of content.
The team decided that presenting products and services, messaging, and education were more important than driving users to a lead form. Our design team used bright and dark colors and carefully targeted messaging around the products and services as you scroll through the new homepage.
