Rebranding and Website Design for Boston Area Addiction Recovery Center

The Lowell House, a historic Massachusetts recovery nonprofit that has served Merrimack Valley for more than 50 years, needed help renaming, rebranding and reintroducing their organization. They wanted a new name, tagline, logo, and website redesign that would embody their past and future to symbolize their evolution. Their geographical reach and services had expanded over the years and were the driving force for their rebrand.

THE CHALLENGE

Addiction recovery nonprofit needed a new brand that symbolized its past and future

After more than 50 years of serving the Merrimack Valley, Lowell House had grown far beyond its origins as a single sober house for men recovering from alcoholism. Its expanded services, including residential treatment, outpatient care, outreach programs, and peer recovery support, are no longer aligned with a name and brand rooted in its early history. The organization needed a new name, logo, and website that could reflect its broader mission while honoring its legacy. With an upcoming conference driving the timeline, the challenge was to create a cohesive, modern identity that resonated with diverse audiences while balancing long-standing recognition with meaningful change.

Ladybugz Interactive Agency was extremely efficient with their timeline, which was important as we had a short window to get this done. Their client portal and weekly meetings were extremely helpful with keeping us accountable and on point.

THE SOLUTION

Approachable and welcoming new name, brand and website design for addiction recovery organization

With a new name, tagline, sub-taglines and headlines, a new logo and icon, and website redesign … the Riverbend team now had a brand that celebrated their past and future.

Whimsical and welcoming visual river elements throughout the website design for addiction recovery, paired with soft edges around images and buttons, created an approachable feeling for those on their recovery journey. This was the exact feeling that the Riverbend team wanted individuals to feel when they received their services and when they were visiting their website.

The new brand and website paid tribute to its history as a symbol of the organization’s growth, positioning it for success and impact within the communities it served for many years. The Riverbend team unveiled their new brand at their 26th gala with the Ladybugz team in attendance, and the organization was very pleased and enthusiastic about their future as Riverbend.

The Ladybugz team has helped many companies and nonprofits successfully rebrand before. It is an intimate and exciting process requiring trust, creativity, and partnership. Having helped many clients before with a rebrand, the Ladybugz team successfully supported Riverbend throughout the entire process and is proud to have helped such an extraordinary organization in our home State continue its lifesaving work to help empower all to a life of recovery.

We worked closely with the Riverbend team to understand their goals and vision for their rebrand so we could create the name, tagline, logo, and website redesign they envisioned. Their rebrand highlights the growth of their organization over the years, paying homage to their past and future through:

  • A name and tagline that symbolize their history in Lowell, Massachusetts, and the road to addiction recovery
  • A welcoming and whimsical logo and icon with fonts that mimic river elements, and an icon that honors the house in their previous logo
  • Creative website redesign elements, colors, imagery, shapes, and contrast to invite visitors to learn more
  • Dynamic video content on the homepage to add contrast and the intriguing element of subtle movement
  • Content that conveyed their expanded suite of services across Merrimack Valley for all areas of recovery and sobriety.
